Bacteriostatic water (BAC water) is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. It inhibits bacterial growth, making it the gold standard for reconstituting lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides in research settings.
The 0.9% benzyl alcohol concentration helps prevent microbial contamination, allowing multi-dose use over 28 days—unlike sterile water, which must be discarded after a single use.
BAC water is formulated to maintain peptide stability during and after reconstitution. Its low preservative concentration is designed not to denature or degrade sensitive research compounds.
Manufactured under strict GMP conditions and meeting USP standards for purity, sterility, and endotoxin levels, each lot is tested and certified for laboratory reliability.
BAC water is frequently utilized in peptide preparation and laboratory dilution workflows where sterility, stability, and repeat-use reliability are required for consistent experimental handling.
